Pingrift vs ExitLag
Measured on one PC (the Pingrift owner's PC) on 2026-11-02, with ExitLag 5.24.0. We only write what we saw and measured ourselves, with the method. Results may differ on another PC or version.

| Item | ExitLag 5.24.0 (what we saw) | Pingrift | How we measured |
|---|---|---|---|
| Memory while idle (no game) | Working set of its 5 processes (ExitLag, ExitLagPmService, handler, crashpad_handler): 436.1 MB. | At the same moment: 12.8 MB. | Script measurement on the same PC at 15:40, both apps running with no game. |
| Valve points in Dubai for CS2 | Its "Ping for games" tool listed 26 Valve regions for CS2, with no Dubai. | Reads Valve's own relay list, which includes Dubai (dxb) and Fujairah (dfjr). | We opened the list in the app and counted the regions. |
| Comparing your current DNS | The DNS optimizer listed the current DNS (the router) as "Not measured", and "Choose fastest" changed only the primary adapter (Wi-Fi stayed on the router). | Benchmarks 6 providers plus your current DNS from your PC, with one-click apply or reset. | We ran the tool and compared the adapter settings before and after. |
| Undo to the original values | After switching High performance back to Default: the network card power-saving value (*EEE) was written as "1" where it had been absent, the performance-counters flag stayed on Dnscache and NetBT, NTFS last access was set to 0 where the Windows 11 default is 2, and the power plan it added stayed on the PC. | Saves every original value (or that it was absent) before any change; "Put everything back" restores exactly those values. | We snapshotted the registry, services and power plans before and after and diffed them. |
| SuperFetch and indexing | Set SysMain and WSearch to "Disabled". (Its revert put them back to Automatic and running — that part was clean.) | Sets them to Manual and stops them now, never Disabled; undo restores the original start type. | We read the services' start types before and after. |
| Traffic shaper state | The Traffic Shaper showed "off" in the UI while its database had is_enabled=1. | Lag Guard reads its state from Windows' own QoS policies, not from a saved flag. | We read its storage.db settings file and compared it with the UI. |
To be fair
- ExitLag has features we did not compare here, such as using several internet connections at once and MTR and TCPing tools.
- ExitLag's DNS reset to Windows defaults was clean, and SysMain and WSearch came back fine after its revert.
- We do not compare prices or game counts here because they change and we cannot verify them the same way.
ExitLag is a trademark of its owners; we have no relationship with them. If anything here is wrong or has changed in a newer version, tell us and we will fix it.
