Where are the servers for Gulf players?

In GTA Online, players in the same session connect directly to each other, so lag can come from another player who is far away or on a weak connection. In FiveM every server is hosted by its owner wherever they choose, and the server list shows you each server's ping before you join.

Why does this game lag?

Because the connection depends on other players (GTA Online) or on where the server is hosted (FiveM), you can have great internet and still see lag. Your PC also has to be steady because the world is large.

Practical steps to do now

1. Cable instead of Wi-Fi: Use a LAN cable if you can. A cable is not affected by walls or by other devices on the same network.
2. If you must use Wi-Fi: 5 GHz: Use the 5 GHz network (or 6 GHz if your router and card support it) and sit close to the router. 2.4 GHz is more crowded and slower.
3. Watch for bufferbloat: Test your ping while downloading something big. If ping jumps during the download, that is bufferbloat: fix it on the router (SQM or QoS if supported) or stop downloads while you play.
4. Stop background uploads and downloads: Cloud backups, Steam and Windows updates, streaming and video calls at home all fill the line and raise ping.
5. Check your cable link speed: If your card supports 1 Gbps but the link shows 100 Mbps, the cable or port is usually faulty. Swap the cable or port.
6. Power plan while gaming: Keep Windows on a high-performance plan while gaming, and plug a laptop in; on battery it throttles.
7. Laptops: use the dedicated GPU: In Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics, choose the game and set "High performance" so it runs on the dedicated GPU, not the integrated one.
8. DNS does not change match ping: Changing DNS affects how fast sites open and the first connection only; it does not change your in-match ping. Do not spend time on it for that.

Specific to GTA Online + FiveM

• FiveM: check the ping in the server list; servers hosted near you are usually better.
• GTA Online: if a session lags, try another one (especially a private or friends-only session).
• Keep extra mods and resources in FiveM to a minimum on a mid-range PC.
