League of Legends: servers and lag fixes for Gulf players
League of Legends, by Riot. The game is light on the PC, so most of its lag comes from the network.

Where are the servers for Gulf players?
In LoL the server is tied to your Riot account region. We do not list locations or numbers we have not measured; the live table below shows what real players see.
Why does this game lag?
Because the game is light, delayed orders usually come from the network: Wi-Fi, bufferbloat, or the ISP route.
Practical steps to do now
- Cable instead of Wi-Fi: Use a LAN cable if you can. A cable is not affected by walls or by other devices on the same network.
- If you must use Wi-Fi: 5 GHz: Use the 5 GHz network (or 6 GHz if your router and card support it) and sit close to the router. 2.4 GHz is more crowded and slower.
- Watch for bufferbloat: Test your ping while downloading something big. If ping jumps during the download, that is bufferbloat: fix it on the router (SQM or QoS if supported) or stop downloads while you play.
- Stop background uploads and downloads: Cloud backups, Steam and Windows updates, streaming and video calls at home all fill the line and raise ping.
- Check your cable link speed: If your card supports 1 Gbps but the link shows 100 Mbps, the cable or port is usually faulty. Swap the cable or port.
- Power plan while gaming: Keep Windows on a high-performance plan while gaming, and plug a laptop in; on battery it throttles.
- Laptops: use the dedicated GPU: In Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics, choose the game and set "High performance" so it runs on the dedicated GPU, not the integrated one.
- DNS does not change match ping: Changing DNS affects how fast sites open and the first connection only; it does not change your in-match ping. Do not spend time on it for that.
Specific to League of Legends
- Turn on the in-game ping and FPS display (in the settings or with its keyboard shortcut).
- If ping spikes only when someone at home downloads, that is bufferbloat.
How Pingrift helps (no hype)
- Smart route — For each game server it measures the direct path and every Pingrift relay (ping, jitter, loss) and picks the fastest. When direct is faster, it keeps you direct and runs nothing extra.
- Lag Guard — While you play it caps the upload of background apps (launchers, browsers, cloud sync) so the line does not fill up, and you can measure ping under upload with and without it.
- In-game overlay — Ping, loss, jitter and FPS on top of the game, so you can tell whether the problem is the network or the PC.
- PC Boost & game mode — Windows tweaks that undo to the exact original value, a high-performance power plan while the game runs (restored after), and a warning when the PC is on a Silent or power-saver plan.
- Gaming connection test — Measures speed and bufferbloat (extra ping while downloading and uploading) and grades it A+ to F with advice.
- Match report — Average and worst ping, jitter and loss, the route used, and FPS.
Results vary with your PC, ISP and the game server; no specific number is guaranteed.
Live ping on Gulf ISPs
Last 60 minutes, from players who turned on the network map in the app. No number is shown unless 5 or more different players stand behind it.
Not enough data yet
Once 5 or more players on the same ISP play this game, the numbers appear here automatically.
FAQ
Why does LoL lag on a strong PC?
Because LoL is light, its lag is usually the network, not the PC. Start with a cable and make sure nothing is downloading at home.
Does Pingrift change my account region?
No. Your Riot account region has nothing to do with the app; Pingrift improves the route and connection from your PC.
